Premier Lakes reports one nano‑bubbler needs repair; NPDES annual report filed with Lee County

Premier Lakes staff reported generally good lake conditions following recent storms but said one nano‑bubbler machine will need repair. The Board and staff discussed proposals to relocate a nano‑bubbler near a homeowner lanai and related electrical work, including Bentley Electric Co. of Naples proposal 24‑437 for relocation of a 240V aerator and the potential use of a zombie box for power.
Mr. Zordan of Johnson Engineering reported the Lee County NPDES Permit FLS000035‑004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report has been filed with Lee County and will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in advance of the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline. He said the CDD should continue into Year 8 while the new permit is anticipated but not yet issued, and that water sampling requirements could change in future permit cycles. A Johnson Engineering representative attends bi‑monthly Lee County NPDES meetings and forwards minutes to the District Manager to keep staff informed.
District operations staff will revisit electrical proposals with contractors and coordinate required repairs and potential relocations of equipment close to homes; no final procurement decision was made at the meeting.
