Engineer: stormwater system flowed but hit capacity after Debbie; residents raise standing‑water concerns

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reported that after Tropical Storm Debbie the stormwater system "flowed unobstructed although the system reached its capacity." He told the board that "Parts of the community received almost 8” of rain in two or three days and the roads are designed for 5½” of rain over a 24‑hour period." Mr. Krebs suggested the Club could add a drainage connection to E1‑A to allow water to bypass pipes and inlets and flow directly to the lake as a possible mitigation.
A resident reported standing water entering a slab and mold concerns in a unit; Mr. Krebs said he recalled prior statements that standing water had been an ongoing occurrence and that because other units had not reported similar issues he did not believe the stormwater system was the cause. Supervisor Schultz asked that Mr. Long address the matter and requested the topic be placed on the next agenda for further review.
