The board voted to terminate the landscape service agreement with Laz's Lawn Service, Inc., and to engage GulfScapes Landscape Maintenance Services effective immediately.
Mrs. Adams said the termination recommendation was based on poor performance and presented GulfScapes' proposal of $58,500, which is roughly $13,000 higher than the $45,000 budgeted amount. The board discussed options to offset the added cost, including using payments withheld from Laz's Lawn Service and unassigned funds. On motion by Mr. Blumenthal and seconded by Mr. Schultz, and with all in favor, the board approved engaging GulfScapes and authorized management to terminate the existing contract with Laz's Lawn Service.
Staff will execute the termination and begin transition to GulfScapes; the board directed management to monitor performance under the new contract and report cost offsets in future financial updates.
