Park Rapids authorized staff to submit a lead service line replacement grant application to the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority and indicated a request amount of $421,000.
City Administrator Angel Weasner explained that city staff and Apex Engineering have helped prepare the application and that the council must pass a resolution authorizing submission. She said, “One of the requirements is a resolution from the City. We will be requesting $421,000.” The council approved Resolution #2025-75 authorizing submittal, noting the application was not yet complete.
Council action authorizes staff to proceed with the grant process; any award would require the city to follow grant program requirements and to provide required matching funds or documentation if applicable. Final project scope and contract work would be presented to the council for approval if the grant is awarded.
