City Administrator Angel Weasner told the council that the Park Board recommended replacement of the playground equipment and that a grant would be “a big help in making the new handicap accessible playground equipment possible.” The council approved the authorization by unanimous vote (meeting minutes record the motion as approved).
The council did not provide a dollar figure for the Lindquist application during the meeting. Staff will prepare the formal grant submittal and return with details on the proposed equipment and accessibility features if the city secures funding.
