Park Rapids Council OKs application for Red Bridge Park improvements

City Administrator Angel Weasner said staff and the Park Board have identified several improvements including “turning the Beach House into an open air pavilion, construction of a kayak rental kiosk, and installation of a fishing pier.” She added that a pollinator garden “might be part of the requirements as well.” The council approved Resolution #2025-69 authorizing the grant submission by unanimous vote.
If funded, the project would convert the existing Beach House to an open pavilion to support park events and recreational services and add small infrastructure for water-based rentals and fishing access. The council did not specify a grant request amount in the discussion and did not set a construction schedule; staff will return with details if the grant is awarded.
