The Washington Elementary School District governing board voted unanimously on July 23 to adopt five superintendent goals for the 2026–27 school year after a collaborative work session that included consultants from McPherson & Jacobson.
Superintendent Robert summarized the goals and the June 3 work session process, saying the board and superintendent ‘‘came together on 06/03/2026, all 5 members of the governing board, myself, as well as the consultants from McPherson and Jacobson’’ to draft first-year performance expectations. He described the goals as a mix of academic analysis, enrollment stabilization, a comprehensive strategic plan, relationships with district leaders and community stakeholders, and review of business and operational efficiencies.
President Kyle Clayton moved to approve the goals and the motion was seconded. The board approved the goals by voice vote; no recorded roll-call tally was given in the transcript beyond unanimous “aye” responses. The superintendent said the goals will guide strategic planning work this fall and that consultants who helped develop the goals will continue to network with the district during implementation.
