Commission agrees to one-week demo of street sweeper before purchase decision

The Lead City Commission gave consensus to allow a street sweeper vendor to bring a machine to Lead for a one-week demonstration. Street Supervisor Jason Bauernfeind told the commission the company "agreed to bring the sweeper to Lead and let it be demoed for a week," and the commission said it would consider a purchase agreement and warranty at a future meeting if the demo is satisfactory.
Commissioners did not vote on a purchase at the Oct. 20 meeting; they authorized only the demonstration. Staff said that if the demo meets expectations the topic will return for formal consideration, including purchase terms and warranty details.
