Council confirms process to fill two vacancies, schedules follow-up interviews April 28

CAO Chambers explained that because seat #4 was vacated first it must be filled first and that the newly appointed councilor must participate in selecting the person for seat #5.
Resident John Mobley asked whether both vacancies could be appointed at the same meeting; Councilmember Margie Lee said there were two vacancies but that state/local code requires filling them in the order they were vacated. CAO Chambers confirmed additional interviews will be held on April 28, 2026 and noted there were no online public-comment requests for this meeting. No appointment votes were taken at the April 14 session.
