Ted Salka, interviewed April 14 for the vacant Council seat #4, described decades of local business ownership and board service as preparation for council duties. Salka said he purchased a local shop in 2004, his home in 2011 and a quarry in 2013, and that by February 2026 he had been in business for 30 years.
Salka emphasized financial and operational experience, including 14 years on the Washington Contract Logger’s Association Credit Union (four as chairman) and museum board service. He said he knows how to set maintenance schedules and manage employees and time, and that his interests are broad and adaptable to council assignments. No appointment was made at the meeting; interviews will continue on April 28, 2026.
