Town Administrator Tony Barletta updated the board on multiple administrative items including a pair of state earmarks and preliminary project work.
Barletta said the final state budget includes a $75,000 earmark from State Senator Bruce Tarr for senior-center improvements and a $25,000 earmark from Representative Drew Tarr for a police motorcycle. "Included in the state budget for Manchester By The Sea... a $75,000 earmark for senior center improvements," Barletta said. He also announced a $14,994 Massachusetts Council on Aging grant for senior-center AV modernization. The administrator noted Division of Local Services is preparing a financial-management report and that the town received a Wi-Fi-at-the-beach proposal; staff will bring the Wi-Fi item forward at a future meeting and asked board members to submit questions in writing in advance.
Barletta also reported wastewater-plant gasket replacements are complete and that the town is pricing biofilter wood-chip replacement; an aerial/drone coastal survey is underway to create a baseline for post-storm claims.
