Putnam County Community Foundation gives $52,500; board approves donations and athletic sponsorship

The Greencastle Community School Corporation board on Sept. 23 accepted a $52,500 gift from the Putnam County Community Foundation to support additional preschool classrooms and classroom resources. Assistant Superintendent Becky McPherson told the board “the Putnam County Community Foundation awarded GCSC the full amount of $52,500.”
During the consent agenda the board also approved smaller gifts: $2,075 from the Greencastle Middle School PTO to the middle school; $550 from Mary Allison Children’s Home Trust and $500 from Bethel Baptist Church to Deer Meadow Primary; and an athletic sponsorship of $750 from Putnam Seed Service, LLC. Mr. Beasley moved to approve the donations and sponsorship, Mrs. Dory seconded, and the motions carried unanimously.
