Steven also reported upcoming items for the August 12 meeting, including two public hearings for interim use permits for a cannabis business on Broadway (which would be the city’s fourth cannabis business if licensed), a site plan and variance for a new car wash, and a final plat for 18 lots in the Hidden Creek development. Commissioners discussed longer‑term commercial potential near Highway 97 and the hockey arena, noting a lack of grocery and restaurant amenities and early developer interest in sports‑oriented hospitality.
