Regional commission offered $25,000 proposal to manage MERP; Selectboard to review

The Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission (TRORC) submitted a proposal to manage Tunbridge’s Municipal Emergency Response Plan (MERP) grant for $25,000, the Selectboard heard Jan. 28.
Maryann Caron briefed the board on the offer and said the fee would cover responsibilities currently handled by her and by a potential MERP liaison. Caron told the Selectboard she does not feel $25,000 is justified for the work. The board decided to review the proposal and take a formal decision at its next meeting.
Separately, Caron reported that Pete Hall has expressed interest in serving as the MERP liaison; she will follow up with him to outline duties and expectations.
No vote or contract was approved at the Jan. 28 meeting; the board will consider next steps after additional review.
