The Walden Selectboard discussed deficit conditions at its May 5 meeting and voted to transfer a temporary $25,000 internal loan from the Capital Fund to the General budget. The minutes record the board’s vote but do not include a roll-call or individual member positions.
Board members also noted that FEMA money for a July 10, 2024 weather event is expected, along with other funds and school-related refunds that the town hopes will reduce the need to draw further on capital reserves. The Orton Road bridge replacement was reported to be on track for this summer.
