At the June 16 Walden Selectboard meeting, resident Iana McLean reported she repaired her dogs' enclosure and said she has been keeping the animals inside during the day while at work. McLean told the board she feels the constable has been harassing her about the dogs; the Selectboard said it would inform the constable of her efforts to keep the dogs at home and prevent barking.
Another attendee, Ashley Leonard, reported dogs chasing wildlife on Maple Lane. Selectboard member Debbie Messier said she has already sent a letter to the owners, will follow up with a phone call and will reach out to the game warden to address the wildlife concern. No formal enforcement action was recorded in the minutes; the board’s immediate response was to notify the constable and for Messier to pursue owner contact and coordination with the game warden.
