Chief Petty-Brown presented the Unified Police Department Millcreek precinct report for May 2026 and recognized Detective Ryan Warner as Officer of the Month.
The chief reported average response times remained about six minutes for Priority 1 and 2 calls and 12 minutes for Priority 3. Case activity rose to 910 reports in May (from 800 in April), and the precinct logged 2,710 calls for service for the month. Petty-Brown highlighted recent enforcement and investigative results, including seizure of 55 fentanyl pills and eight grams of heroin, 11 DUI arrests, 68 accident reports, and work by the Directed Enforcement Unit that included search warrants and arrests.
Petty-Brown also noted the Records Division now operates from the department's Logistics Building in Kearns and that the UPD was down one full-time position but expects several retirements in July; the UPD Board approved adding an Assistant Chief position to expand capacity. She introduced Detective Ryan Warner as the May 2026 Officer of the Month and acknowledged his recent promotion to sergeant and his role investigating residential burglaries and mentoring newer officers.
Council members thanked the department for community engagement at schools and outreach events such as the ice cream truck visits. The recognition was a ceremonial part of the agenda and no action was required.
