During its Dec. 17 meeting the Washington Recreation Committee reviewed treasurer's matters and agreed to increase the mowing appropriation to $5,000 for FY26. Committee discussion noted that the FY24 mowing expense was $3,921, and that the existing $4,000 appropriation covered only basic mowing costs. Vince Vermette moved to increase the appropriation; Carol Poulin seconded and the motion was accepted.
Committee members assigned follow-up tasks: Fred will inquire about FY24 expenses (including checks and service charges) and Scott will provide FY25 totals by Wednesday, Dec. 18. The board also discussed porta-potty costs and longer-term restroom options for Carpenter Park in the same agenda segment.
