Mayor Randy Hettich updated the City of Argo council on infrastructure activity, saying he met with the Alabama Department of Transportation regarding an ATRIP grant and that he intends to contact Norfolk Southern to move the related work forward. He told the council, “The Lyles Lane project will begin this quarter,” and said department heads attended a grant-writing class to pursue funds for a generator for City Hall.
The report was presented as part of the mayor’s routine update; no formal motion or vote on ATRIP or the railroad contact was recorded. Council members did not identify a schedule beyond the mayor’s statement about the quarter, and the council asked that the mayor provide updates as negotiations with ALDOT and Norfolk Southern proceed.
