Committee elects chair and secretary unanimously at first meeting
Summary
At its Jan. 21 meeting the Waterbury Town Meeting Study Committee unanimously approved Rebecca Ellis as chair and Liz Schlegel as secretary; both nominations were seconded by Anne Imhoff.
The committee confirmed leadership during its first session. Liz Schlegel nominated Rebecca Ellis to serve as committee chair; Anne Imhoff seconded the nomination and the committee approved Ellis unanimously. Later in the meeting, Susan Titterton nominated Liz Schlegel as committee secretary, Anne Imhoff seconded, and the membership voted unanimously to approve Schlegel.
Both votes were recorded as unanimous without tallies of individual yes/no votes in the meeting record. The committee's immediate establishment of leadership allows the group to proceed with scheduling presentations, outreach and planning for recommendations to be presented for Town Meeting Day 2027.
