Liza Mountford told the recreation committee that the selectboard supports the Washington Agricultural Association's (WAA) proposed arena and that the WAA will conduct fundraising for the project, with no expectation that the recreation department or town will fund it. The minutes record that fundraising will be handled by the WAA rather than by the town.
Committee members also agreed to continue coordinating the fall festival with the WAA, as had been done in 2025, and to obtain Music in the Park dates from WAA for the Carpenter Park calendar. There was no formal vote recorded on the arena itself in these minutes.
