Rebecca Ellis opened the Waterbury Town Meeting Committee meeting and reviewed the committee’s calendar and obligations, saying the committee will meet “on the 4th Wednesday of each month, 7-9 pm, except Nov/Dec [third Wednesdays 6–8].” She told members that preliminary recommendations are due in September and that the committee’s final recommendations are due on Jan. 8; minutes note the committee is scheduled to sunset at the 2027 Town Meeting.
The committee laid out a two-phase schedule: April–July for research and presentations, then July–September focused on process design and decision-making, leading to the September report to the Select Board. Committee members emphasized outreach and follow-up with the Select Board in October and November to answer questions before the final submission in January.
