Council adopts FY2026 fee schedule, adds drought-based water consumption fees

Administrative Services Director Mariah Hill presented updates to the FY2026 municipal fee schedule. Hill said the changes are intended to ensure fees reflect the actual cost of providing services and highlighted updates to over-the-counter building permit fees, building rental fees and deposits, a new zoning letter fee and the addition of drought-tiered water consumption fees tied to the city's drought plan and Jordan Valley Water Conservation District designations.
"The proposed fees reflect the actual cost of providing specific services to Midvale City residents, businesses, and other patrons," Hill said. Council opened and closed public comment with no speakers, and then approved Resolution No. 2026-R-20 to amend the fee schedule and utility rates for Fiscal Year 2026 by roll call vote. The amended fee schedule will be posted on the city's website following approval.
