The committee chair apologized to members after acknowledging that some tribes that wanted to attend could not be present because of prior engagements.
"I would like to also make a quick apology. When we were scheduling this, I didn't take into account some of the tribes couldn't make it today," the chair said, adding the scheduling oversight was the chair's responsibility. The chair also noted the Kansas House was on the floor and members might need to leave briefly for a vote but the panel would return to finish its business.
No tribal representatives spoke in the transcript and the chair dismissed the committee after the day's action on the gaming compact.
