Jillian Kinkade of legislative research told the committee, "Really, ideally, if they can get them to you by a veto session, would be best so that you are here in the building and we can have a conversation about it." Kinkade added that May 18 would allow staff time to get a letter into the legislative coordinating council if topics arrived later.
The chair noted the veto session is calendared for April 9 and urged members to provide detailed topic descriptions when emailing suggestions. Staff said no interim meeting date has been scheduled yet and that meeting timing will depend on the number of interim days and topics the committee elects to study.
