"For me to have a disability and have to be scared of our own officers is absolutely disheartening," she said. Town staff offered to have the town manager reach out to guide her to the appropriate Beaufort County grievance process and to ensure the town documents the complaint.
Other speakers raised development-related concerns. John Reed asked for continued engagement over a school and property near Rose Hill and referenced prior commitments under a 9th Amendment; Barrett Collins requested a public meeting with state, county and town representatives to map watershed infrastructure to the projected 80% buildout and to show how flooding and drainage issues will be addressed. "We need a public meeting that maps out the infrastructure for the 80% build out," Collins told council.
