Bluffton library renovation remains on county capital list; board seeks timeline

Amanda said capital project requests are submitted in the county process each November–December, at which point a committee ranks projects and determines which can be funded in a fiscal year. "So I put that forward along with the River Library, the replacement of our self check machine," Amanda said, noting departments submit wishes and then the county ranks and schedules work.
Board members observed Bluffton has a substantial impact-fee balance and asked whether some impact fee money could be used to finish local renovations. Amanda and the finance presenter explained that while impact fees are available, project administration, ranking, and county priorities determine which projects proceed in a given year.
