Council hears Gullah Geechee CDC plan; members press for town assets and follow-up

Council members asked whether the town should consider assigning underused town assets or property to support the CDC, and whether recurring state funding (a previously discussed $1M annual allocation) will appear in the state budget. Staff confirmed they are actively following state and county funding prospects and will report back. Council members representing historically affected neighborhoods urged continued prioritization of land acquisition, drainage and neighborhood revitalization work.
