Building Official Charles McAllister told the council that roughly forty permits are active and that processing has improved through the CitizenServe system. He said the city is now under contract with Shockey & Associates to lead a zoning regulation project; a kickoff meeting is being scheduled to confirm goals and priorities before the project moves into community engagement.
McAllister and City Administrator/Clerk Kathy Bounds said they will coordinate with City Attorney Michelle Daise to develop a revised fee schedule so the city can recoup expenses for specialized planning reviews (for example, replats) while keeping basic plan review as a core municipal service. The council did not adopt fees at the Feb. 2 meeting but directed staff to prepare materials for future council consideration.
