Dada Peterson of the Chamber presented Q1 and Q2 lodging‑tax advisory committee (LTAC) reports on the caboose visitor information center, describing the visitor services offered and recent usage trends.
Peterson said the center logged about 150 visitors who signed the logbook in Q1 after expanding open hours to 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and recorded 231 sign‑ins in Q2, with additional visitors during the Forest Festival and the Olympus rally. She noted partnerships with the historical society and the Explore Hood Canal app and thanked the City of Shelton for lodging‑tax funding that supports cleaning, signage and staffing.
Peterson offered to answer council questions and said the center's materials and the iPad‑linked guide have helped capture where visitors come from and how they find Shelton.
