Council moves Angleside pressure‑zone project to action agenda; staff cites $1.85M grant

Interim Public Works Director Brent Armstrong told the council the Angleside (Ingleside) pressure‑zone Phase 1 improvement project is currently out to bid, with bids opening July 28 and work estimated at about 180 working days after award.
Armstrong said the work will reconstruct two pump stations (upper and lower Angleside), install new pumps with pressure‑sustaining equipment and free about 310,000 gallons of dead storage that are currently constrained by pressure issues. He estimated the project could free up roughly 1,200 equivalent residential units (ERUs) of service capacity.
Council moved and seconded a motion to place the project on the August 18, 2026 action agenda for consideration; the motion carried. Finance and council members noted that the project is primarily funded by a $1,850,000 direct appropriation grant, with contingent local funds to be determined once bids are received. Armstrong said contingency and final costs will be clearer after bids are opened.
