La Cygne accepts $648,900 bid to desludge sewer lagoon cells

City Clerk Jodi Wade reported that BG Consultants and USDA reviewed the city's financials and that roughly $1,000,000 remained available for the remaining phases, which include lagoon desludging and lift-station improvements. Council members agreed that desludging costs are likely to rise over time and concurred to proceed while funds are available.
Council Member Thomas Capp moved to accept the Hodges Farms and Dredging bid; Council Member Keith Stoker seconded the motion, which passed 5-0. The project will proceed under BG Consultants oversight and follow standard contracting and project scheduling procedures.
Next steps: staff to finalize contract documents and coordinate scheduling with BG Consultants and the contractor.
