The Board of Education of Unified School District No. 422 adopted Resolution No. 2505 at its Sept. 9 meeting, authorizing a Local Option Budget (LOB) amount of 32 percent for the 2024–25 year. The motion to adopt the LOB was made by Jamie Brown and seconded by Tyler Heinson and passed 6–0.
Adopting a LOB at 32 percent authorizes the district to collect additional local revenue sources allowed under Kansas law to support district operations beyond the state-determined base. The board recorded the motion as passed without recorded public opposition.
Next steps: Budget implementation and levy calculations will reflect the authorized LOB percentage and be included in the district's fiscal filings.
