Staff member told the board that Meridian’s team is about two weeks from finishing work needed for temporary certificates and hopes to begin leasing in September, with first residents moving in late September or early October. "I think it is around a 120 apartments are ready to go at this moment that they that have been approved and to get the temporary seal on to them," the staff member said.
Staff also said the civic center is up and running and will be available for public rental. On the senior housing project, staff reported 44 people are already in place and the developer is completing final landscaping and documentation needed to finish the temporary seals. Staff noted outstanding operational questions such as whether the town will collect garbage for certain projects or if redevelopers will hire private haulers, and said those logistics remain under discussion.
Board members asked follow‑up questions about garage access, swipe cards and how customer/retail entrance and resident circulation will be managed; staff said the garage will remain open to vehicle access but apartment interior access will be secured by management controls.
