Witness who spoke with Shiloh during shooting says he told her 'he just shot me'
Summary
Alizee Ballard testified she was on the phone with Richard Shiloh as he backed his car and heard him tell someone to 'go to the other side of the car' before he said, "he just shot me." She then went to the scene and later spoke to police.
Alizee Ballard, who identified herself as a Beaumont, Texas resident and a romantic partner of the victim, told jurors she was on the phone with Richard Shiloh the evening of 03/27/2022 and heard beeping consistent with a vehicle backing up.
Ballard testified she heard Shiloh tell another person to move to the other side of his vehicle, then heard disturbance noises and Shiloh repeatedly curse until she said his name. Ballard said the caller then told her, "he just shot me," after which she hung up, tried to return to the scene and later spoke with responding officers and detectives. Ballard also identified a photograph of Shiloh admitted into evidence as a fair depiction of him when he was alive.
On cross‑examination Ballard said she had seen Shiloh with a long gun once but not regularly and that she could not identify all persons on the surveillance video. She was excused under the court's witness‑rule restrictions after defense counsel finished questioning.
