Marine board approves dozens of access and education grants totaling millions

"It sold out within 48 hours," Emmons said, adding the group planned partnered outreach with community groups to reach underrepresented participants.
Other approved awards included Adventures Without Limits (adaptive paddling and statewide outreach), Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership big‑canoe youth programs, multiple dock replacement and parking projects for coastal towns (Depoe Bay, Warrenton), and several Klamath access projects tied to dam‑removal staging and interim management. Board members praised applicants’ outreach plans and asked staff to monitor outcomes and deferred some projects pending permit or design advancements.
Motions for individual grants were moved and seconded; roll‑call counts were recorded verbally as 'ayes' in the room and managers confirmed unanimous votes for the items that were moved to approval during the meeting.
