A staff member told the board they will prepare a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with East Bridgewater to formalize mutual aid when towns face personnel shortfalls, illnesses, or accidents.
“I have to type something up. It has to go in front of the East Bridgewater's board of health so they can agree to the MOU between the 2 towns,” the staff member said, adding that they have not yet spoken with a West Bridgewater health department contact. The staff cited previous mutual-aid arrangements the towns used before the HPHEG grant funded additional coverage.
The staff said East Bridgewater has agreed in principle to help cover for shortfalls, and the MOU would put that arrangement in writing; the draft will be circulated for the board's review before being sent to East Bridgewater for its consideration. Board members did not vote; the item will return to the agenda for a follow-up.
