The Basehor City Council voted to adopt Resolution 2025-05 on April 9, 2025, authorizing allocation of certain project costs to the city's Municipal Maintenance and Equipment Replacement Fund (MMERF).
City Administrator Leslie Riverola told the council the resolution is a "companion item to the ordinance" approved earlier and outlines how the city would set a baseline threshold for capital improvement projects that would require contributions to MMERF. Riverola said the resolution defines the types of projects that would qualify and aims to ensure ongoing maintenance of facilities, streets, parks and trails constructed by the city.
A council member (speaker 5) moved to approve the resolution; Kai seconded. The council voted 4-0 in favor. No additional appropriation or specific dollar amounts were included in the presentation; Riverola offered to provide more detail if the council wanted it.
The council's approval sets a policy framework; staff said they support the item and will follow the policy parameters when allocating dollars to maintain city assets.
