Sean Gordon of Gordon CPA presented the City's financial audit for the year ended Dec. 31, 2025, and said the firm issued an "unmodified opinion," the highest available under federal and state auditing guidance. Gordon noted the City's overall change in net position decreased by approximately $57,000 for the year and reported no recommendations from the auditors, commending City staff for their cooperation during the audit.
Council members asked how the recently purchased church property is reflected in the statements. Gordon pointed to the audit notes: the related debt issuance appears as general obligation notes payable of approximately $3.355 million, while the land value and depreciable capital assets are presented on the balance sheet and capital assets schedule.
