Neighbors warn board of returning Sunset Ridge 42‑townhome proposal

During public comment on Oct. 2, resident Jill Carlin of 2381 Sunset Avenue urged the Planning and Zoning Board to hear neighbors' concerns about a separate Sunset Ridge proposal expected to return in a new application package.
Carlin said the earlier hearing on March 6 drew around 300 people and that neighbors opposed a previous 42‑townhome plan for the last 4.3 acres at Sunset Ridge. "The neighborhood... is way below it. So those people are very concerned about the adverse impact of 2 story townhouses, overlooking their property right on sort of towering above their property," she said. Carlin said neighbors had proposed single‑family alternatives that match the character of surrounding streets.
Board members noted there was no formal application for the site at the time and reminded members about disclosure obligations for quasi‑judicial matters. Carlin said she expects neighbors to return when an application is filed and thanked the board for its prior vote on the matter.
