Dr. Myers presented six recommended policy adjustments from the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) for a first reading — items included executive‑session recording prohibitions, guidance on controversial issues in classrooms, nonresident student enrollment language for handbooks, interrogation and law‑enforcement notification, adult student placement and a visitors policy. He said final action would come at a future meeting after the required second reading.
The board also voted to approve attached handbooks for three schools with mostly date and name changes and a new expectation that students enrolling at age 4 at Wiley be potty trained. Separately, members approved an update to Equity Bank signature cards to reflect board membership changes. All motions carried.
