Selectboard keeps most salaries flat, adds building manager line and raises Listers' rate

At the Jan. 24 special budget meeting the Isle La Motte Selectboard agreed to flat-fund most salaries and wages for 2025 while acknowledging an increased workload for town officials. The board noted specific increases in hours for the Assistant Town Clerk, the Assistant Treasurer and Selectboard special projects, but chose to maintain current overall salary levels except where noted.
Selectboard Chair Peter Brzozowy and board members said a new line item will be added to the General Fund to cover a Building Manager salary. The board also updated Lister pay to $20.00 per hour for 2025. Assistant Treasurer Steve Mank provided the updated budget worksheet that now includes tax-collection calculations for both the General Fund and Highway Fund, which the board said will help with year-over-year comparisons.
