Selectboard Chair Peter Brzozowy opened the meeting at 6:01 p.m.; the board agreed to reconvene on Jan. 26 at 1:00 p.m. to review updates.
Board members confirmed several budget items: the Cemetery Commission will receive $7,000 ($6,000 for mowing and $1,000 for upkeep), the Recreation Department appropriation was raised to $4,000, and $5,000 was budgeted for replacement of the Community Room fire suppression system. Treasurer Mary LaBrecque reported the town's 2024 fuel expense was approximately $5,100, largely charged to 2023 reserves, and that fuel costs will be flat-funded for 2025. The meeting adjourned at 9:29 p.m. on a motion by Mary-Catherine Graziano, seconded by Pat Treckman, with all in favor.
The board's review included both the General Fund and Highway Fund worksheets; Assistant Treasurer Steve Mank noted the updated spreadsheet now calculates taxes to be collected from General Fund and Highway budgets and that several highway line items were adjusted to reflect upcoming grant work. The reconvened Jan. 26 session will consider any remaining adjustments before the board finalizes the budget package for public posting.
