Council pushes automatic water and gas meters to year one; EGW quote discussed

Chair (S2) and other council members argued the meters free up labor and improve operations; "I say move them to year 1...those are priorities," the Chair said.
City Manager Henry Arlando summarized recent procurement information and a vendor quote: staff have roughly $300,000 in reserves and obtained an EGW quote to supply and implement approximately 1,900 meters "a little under $1,000,000" including software and installation. Council asked staff to refine funding options, consider grant opportunities and return with procurement details and timing at the next workshop so the council can decide whether to expend reserves or reallocate CIP items.
