Wicomico County councilors voted unanimously on July 21 to amend the fiscal-year 2027 capital budget to accept a $531,480 Federal Aviation Administration grant for airport air-traffic-control tower equipment.
County staff described the additional award as a response to higher project costs identified through the bidding process and said the FAA will fully fund the increase, bringing the total FAA grant for the project to $1,791,480. The public hearing on Resolution 1-21-2026 drew no speakers, and the council moved to approve the resolution without further discussion.
The director of aviation was invited to answer technical questions but none were raised during the motion; the resolution passed unanimously.
