Page County hires Ehlers & Cooney to advise on MidAmerican IUC docket after closed session

Barley explained an advisory opinion from the Iowa Public Information Board requires the board to clearly designate legal counsel before entering a closed session under Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(c). The board designated Barley as counsel for the closed session, held the closed session, returned to open session and then voted to sign the engagement letter.
A motion to sign the engagement letter was made and seconded; the board approved the engagement and the county will now be represented by Ehlers & Cooney in matters related to the MidAmerican application before the Iowa Utilities Commission, per the engagement.
