Select Board approves trustees appointments, scholarship awards and rules of procedure; creates dock subcommittee
Summary

At the July 1 meeting the Select Board accepted the resignation of Edie Demaris from the Josiah Brown trustees and appointed Emily Hastings as a trustee; members said a letter of thanks would be sent. The board then approved recommendations from staff to award six Josiah Brown scholarships of $6,000 each (three continuing students and three new applicants), citing a fund balance of about $136,000.
Board members adopted an updated rules-of-procedure handbook and code of conduct; the motion carried with four yes votes and one abstention. The Select Board also debated how to handle dock and wharf regulations and voted 3–2 to form a volunteer dock-ordinance subcommittee composed of two elected board members and up to five public volunteers to develop recommendations and bring them to public hearing.
The board approved releasing an escrow bond of $103,296.11 to the Ridgeview Lot Owners Association after conditions were met; that motion passed unanimously.
