EDC approves proposed FY2027 budget and forwards it to city council

The Montgomery Economic Development Corporation approved its proposed fiscal year 2027 budget and will forward the proposal to City Council for statutory filing and public review. Lauren briefed the board on changes since the June 30 workshop, including a $4,980 increase for project-management software (offset by reduced consulting) and an updated transfer to the general fund to include a 3% cost-of-living adjustment for covered salaries.
Staff said the proposed budget will be filed with City Council with a meeting on Aug. 12 to remain on schedule for adoption by mid-September to meet tax-office deadlines. A motion to approve the proposed EDC budget was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. The Chair thanked staff, noting appreciation for the work preparing the proposal for board review.
The approved proposal is a recommended submission to Council and remains subject to Council review and the city's formal adoption process.
