Jason Kelly, the new lead for the Chaffey Center for International Business at Bryant, framed the center as a state-designated hub for export and import assistance and trade expansion for Rhode Island firms. "For over 40 years, we have been, Rhode Island's designated hub for international business," Kelly said.
Kelly urged manufacturers interested in exporting or importing to contact the Chaffey Center and highlighted flagship programs the center manages, including Small Business Association STEP grants and State Trade Expansion resources. He also previewed a June mission to Halifax and said the annual World Trade Day event will be rebranded as the Global Trade Summit and shifted to September to attract more international companies and executives.
Kelly and other presenters encouraged firms to follow Bryant and Commerce channels for training and mission opportunities and to use the Chaffey Center's consulting and practicum resources if they are exploring international markets.
