"One thing that The Arc always strives for is independence and access to services for people with disabilities," Fletcher said, and she encouraged families to attend The Arc's legislative kickoff on Sept. 24, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the organization's community center off 2nd Avenue downtown. Fletcher described the kickoff as an opportunity for families to engage directly with legislators and local leaders.
Wilkerson responded by thanking The Arc for its work and encouraging community participation at future events.
